Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first, scored 287-8 in 50 overs with contribution of Azhar Ali (79), Shoaib Malik (51) and Rizwan Ahmed’s (52) half centuries.From Sri Lankan side Lasith Malinga and debutante Sachith Pathirana got two wickets each.
Later on when Sri Lanka start chasing 287 runs in 50 overs, Initially Sri Lankan openers scored 92 runs in just eight overs with contribute of Kusal Perera’s 68 off 25 balls. He hit 13 fours and two sixes.
When Pakistan got Kusal, again Sri Lanka’s scoring rate went down and at one stage they lost the grip of the match but partnership of the Chandimal and Pathirana again gave the Sri Lanka team hope of winning.
After Pathirana wicket down Thisara Perera help the Chandimal to finish the match with 11 balls remaining and level the series 1 - 1.
