Sri Lanka batsman confirmed his test cricket retirement after the second of the three-match Test series against India in August.
The 37-year old left-handed batsman had already retired from one-day and t20 cricket now will finish his international cricket carrier in August on home soil.
Kumar Sangakkara has scored 11 double hundreds in test, Sangakkara second-most after Don Bradman who scored 12 double hundreds.
Kumar also made world record of Partnership for any wicket in test history with his team mate Jayawardene i.e. 624 runs against South Africa in 2006.
Sangakkara Test average 58.3 is the highest among batsman who scored 8000+ runs.His test runs 12305 in 132 matches.
